Veronika Tokareva is a young opera singer from Russia.
While still a student of the faculty of arts of Moscow State University in the class of Marina Shutova, Veronika was admitted to the Mariinsky Theater Academy of Young Singers under the direction of Larisa Gergieva.
Her debut took place on the stage of the National State Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, a branch of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladikavkaz, where she performed the part of Dimitry in the opera “Fedora” by U. Giordano.
This was followed by the roles of Gonerill in “King Lear” by S. Slonimsky, the Third noble orphan in the “Der Rosenkavalier” by R. Strauss and the Spirit in “Cendrillon” by J. Massenet under the direction of conductors Z. Gugkaev, M. Sinkevich, A. Vasiliev on the stages The Hermitage Theater and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
The opera repertoire of the young singer also includes the parts of Charlotte in “Werther” J. Massenet, Olga in “Eugene Onegin” and Polina in “The Queen of Spades” by Tchaikovsky, Third Nymph in “Rusalka” of Dvorjak, Laura in “The Stone Guest” by A. Dargomyzhsky, Angel in A. Rubinstein’s “Demon”, Neighbors in Stravinsky’s “Mavra”, Zitta in Spadavecchia’s “The Gadfly”.
Veronika Tokareva is the winner of the 1st Prize of the All-Russian Festival-Competition named after I. Severyanin, as well as a diplomat of the III International Vocal Competition named after B. Shtokolov, III and V International Vocal Competitions named after P. Lisitsian, IV International competition of young opera singers named after M.Mikhailov.
She interned at the International Summer Academy in Mikkeli (Finland) and was a participant in the Weimar Master Classes.
She worked with such singers as Helen Donath, Johannes Martin Kraenzle, Matthias Milder, Brigitte Fassbaender, Irina Dolzhenko, Marina Shutova and others.
Veronika has a beautiful voice of the rare timbre of mezzo-soprano, which effectively complements the program of any concert.
And thanks to her education in piano, as well as knowledge of German, English, French and Italian, Veronika impresses with her deep creative personality, which she manifests both in the opera repertoire and in the chamber vocal genre, performing music by composers from Russia and the world.
