Molto apprezzata per le sue qualità vocali e il suo eccellente livello musicale, Melody LOULEDJIAN si esibisce nei repertori classico e contemporaneo con lo stesso successo.

Nel giugno 2018 debutta nel ruolo di Violetta ne La Traviata all’Opera di Tenerife.

Francese con origini armene, Melody Louledjian si avvicina alla musica in tenera età.
Dopo un primo premio di pianoforte e maestro di canto con lode presso il Conservatorio Superiore di Lione e alla Hochschule di Vienna, inizia la sua carriera presso il Grand Theatre de Bordeaux nel 2009 con Le Balcon da Peter Eötvös in cui canta il ruolo di Carmen, una giovane prostituta.
Accolta dalla critica, viene invitata regolarmente dal Grand Theatre de Bordeaux.

La sua personalità, il suo solido background musicale, il suo orecchio formidabile e la sua versatilità le permettono di cantare numerosi repertori. Con una particolare propensione per la musica contemporanea è invitata regolarmente in prestigiosi ensemble come l’Intercontemporain, Contrechamps, Ensemble Modern, l’Instant Donné ed il Klangforum. Si esibisce sui palchi della Philharmonie de Paris, del Konzert Haus Berlin, della Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, della Tonhalle Düsseldorf, della Kölner Philharmonie, dell’IRCAM, dell’Alte Oper di Francoforte, della Radio Suisse Romande e di numerosi festivali internazionali: Alte Oper-Musikfest di Francoforte, März Festival di Berlino, Acht Brücken Festival di Colonia e Düsseldorf, Algiers Festival, Festival d’Automne di Parigi, Festival Musica di Strasburgo, Festival Archipel di Ginevra, Royaumont di Parigi.

Melody è interessata da sempre anche ad altri repertori canori, che coinvolgono anche strumenti meno usati nell’ambito operistico. Nel 2017 esce, con il nome d’arte Melody Lou, un album intitolato Follement 30’ prodotto da Inoui Distribution. In questo progetto di cui lei è creatrice, riprende le canzoni francese degli anni ’30, accompagnata dalla sua fisarmonica e da un quartetto jazz. Questo progetto è regolarmente parte integrante, da due anni, dei festival jazz del sud della Francia.

Contemporaneamente alla sua carrera di solista, presenta periodicamente Masterclass sulla musica contemporanea e l’improvvisazione libera alla Alta Scuola di Musica di Ginevra e i diversi conservatori in Francia. È professore all’European Opera Academy.

Dal 2017/18 fa parte dell’Ensemble di Solisti del Grand Teatro di Ginevra. Durante la stagione 2018/19, canta i ruoli di Frasquita in Carmen, Xenia in Boris Godounov, Seconda Donna in Le convenienze ed Inconvenienze Teatrali.
Canta i ruoli di Principessa e Marthe per la nuova opera di Gerard Pesson Three Tales all’Opera di Lille, interpreta con l’Ensemble Intercontemporain i Quatre Chants pour franchir le seuil di Grisey alla Philhamornie di Parigi e le Illuminations di Britten con la Camerata Atermac a Losanna.

Discografia : nel marzo 2019 registrerà il suo primo disco classico sotto l’etichetta discografica Aparté. Duetterò con Antoine Palloc sulla tematica dei « Fiori » con melodie di Wiener, Milhaud, Satie e Honegger. Uscita : primavera 2020.
In marzo uscerà per l’etichetta discografica Klarté la registrazione live della Dilettante in Avignone, prodotto per il Palazzetto Bru Zane.

She debuts as Violetta in La Traviata with the Tenerife Opera in June 2018.

French-Armenian singer, Melody Louledjian took up music at a very early age.
After a First Prize for Piano, a Master’s degrees summa cum laude at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon and at the Hochschule in Vienna, she made her debut at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in 2009 playing Carmen in Le Balcon by Peter Eötvös.
She attracted critical acclaim and is a regular guest singer at the theatre.

As a fine sight-reader with a sound musical grounding and an excellent ear, she is particularly at ease with contemporary repertoire. She is regularly invited by prestigious ensemble like Intercontemporain, Contrechamps, Ensemble Modern, l’Instant Donné and Klangforum. She enjoys working with compositors, as being part of creation processes and performances experimentations. She also sings in concerts like in the Carmina Burana at the Opera of Saint Etienne, the 9th Symphony of Beethoven at the Grand Theatre of Bordeaux, La Damoiselle Elue at the Philharmonic of Paris, at the Opera of Nancy with Gluck arias, at the Antic Theatre of Oranges, in Gala at the Opéra Comique and the Opera of Nice, etc. In recitals, she sings on stage of several countries, like at the New Year Festival of Gstaad, Royal Queen Elisabeth Chapel of Belgium, the Auditorium of Lyon, in Japan, Italy, many Festivals in France, in particular with the pianists Antoine Palloc and Giulio Zappa.

Practicing several instruments, she cultivates other repertories since ever. This is how she releases in 2017 under the name of Melody Lou, an album entitled Follement 30’ by Inoui Distribution. In this project which she leads, she covers french songs from the 30ies, accompanied by her accordion and a jazz quartet. This project is regularly in tour in the last two years in South of France Jazz Festivals.
Besides her soloist career, she regularly gives Masterclasses on the theme of contemporary music and free improvisation at the High Music School of Geneva so as in several conservatories in France. She is teacher at the European Opera Academy.

She is part since 2017 of the Soloist Ensemble of the Grand Théâtre of Geneva. During the 2018/19 season, she sings there the roles of Frasquita/Carmen, Xenia/Boris Godounov and Luigia/Le convenienze e Inconvenienze Teatrali. She also sings the roles of The Princesse and Marthe in Three Tales, the new opera of Gerard Pesson at the Opera of Lille. She performs with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Quatre Chants pour franchir le seuil of Grisey at the Paris Philharmonie and the Illuminations of Britten with the Camerata Atermac in Lausanne.

Discography: she will record in march 2019 a first album under the label Aparté, in duo with Antoine Palloc around the thematic of the “Flowers” with melodies of Wiener, Milhaud, Satie et Honegger. Released: spring 2020.
In next march will be equally released under the label Klarté the live recording of Les Dilettante of Halevy, produced by the Palazetto Bru Zane.
